Jutland Reserve

At the end of Jutland Road, overlooking the Waitemata Harbour and Auckland city, is a patch of coastal forest hugging the edge of the cliff. This forest is surrounded by the urban environment and for years has been deeply affected by dumping of rubbish, plant and animal pest species and neglect.

Jutland Reserve is in the same situation as many patches of forest in urban areas.

Our Goal

We aim to restore the reserve to the point that native birds and animals are encouraged to recolonise.

The main focus is making Jutland Reserve a stepping stone in the Wild-Link Corridor between Tiri Tiri Matangi and Rangitoto.

Life of Project

This project is predicted to take 5+ years to complete. At that point it is hoped that Jutland Reserve can flourish on its own with minimal managament necessary.
