Dispite the weather, today had a great turn out of 30 people, especially since this was our first event.

Our goal today was to clear the majority of the reserve of organic and inorganic material that had been dump, which proved to be a more difficult job than we thought it would be.

Today was also a long day for not just our younger volunteers (the youngest being 7), but also for the more experienced, as we worked for a solid two and a half ours before lunch, and for an hour afterwards!

Not only this, but some keen volunteers stayed for another two hours to complete an audit of all the rubbish collected.

We found all sorts of trash, including a mattress, the remains of a foosball table, a whole trampoline, and general garden waste (there are also the descendants of multiple species of garden plants that have been dumped).

Fortunately the majority of the rubbish has been collected and sent away (there wasn't much fit to be properly recycled). Hopefully in future clean-ups we will find considerably less rubbish!
